BTRC is switching off the network of Unofficial Phone in Bangladesh

Recently BTRC (Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission) has announced a notice which is the ban of all unofficial phone(the phone which are brought to our country without giving Tariff to the government). Its a Sad news for Middle-class people like me. Because before this action we could by smartphones 2000 or 3000 taka less. But from now we have buy the official phone. Cause if anyone buys an official phone after august-1, 2019 then his phone network will be disabled. He will not able to use any further network of any telecommunication company.

Now question comes that how govt. will know that which phone is official and which one is unofficial?

Its very easy to find out. Every Phone has a IMEI (international mobile equipment identity) Number. So if anyone import mobile by giving certain tariff to the govt. then what the govt. does is include the IMEI number of that phone in their(govt.) database. As a result the govt. has only the official phones IMEI Numbers. In this way govt. will track the official and unofficial phone.

So if anyone supposed to buy a phone after 1 august 2019 then he should check whether his phone's IMEI is listed in govt. Database or not.
to check follow the below steps:

1. go to your dial and type *#06#
2. Now we can see two IMEI Nubmers.
3. choose any of them. the number must be of 15 digits
4. Now go to message option and Type "KYD <space> IMEI-numbers and send this to 16002.
5. if this phone is official or legal than you will get the positive message otherwise negative.

if the negative message comes then never buy this phone. otherwise you will have a phone that will have no mobile network.
